Candace McGrue is a social worker, community leader, and advocate with over 15 years of experience supporting families, youth, veterans, and individuals navigating major life transitions. She currently serves families through King County’s New Family Services program, providing case management, life skills coaching, workforce readiness support, and resource navigation for first-time parents. Candace previously served as a Family Support Group Facilitator with RECLAIM, where she led weekly support groups for families impacted by incarceration and reentry, creating safe spaces for healing, communication, and reintegration. Her connection to this work is deeply personal. Candace supported her husband through 22 years of wrongful incarceration and has spent the last five years navigating the reentry journey alongside him. This lived experience, combined with her professional background, allows her to bring a trauma-informed, compassionate, and community-centered approach to her leadership. Candace is passionate about restoring dignity, strengthening families, and helping individuals reclaim stability, purpose, and opportunity.
